Birth Zox Card Que CockRock…
Upon my return from Praha, 6.6.06 came around, which can only mean one thing… Phoebe’s birthday.
So I joined her at this cool little LES bar, Les Enfant Terribles, for some celebration.
And the friends (more unpictured).
Happy Birthday Sis! (you can’t even guess how old she is, she still looks so good, but I’ll give you a hint, she’s the oldest of 5).
I couldn’t stay too long, because just up the street, old Catey Eli was rocking it out at CBGBs with his The Zox. I met up with other cate alums for some Miller fanship.
Jenna and I did our usual concert canoodling.
Brent, who I had not seen in fucking years, represented.
You know Ryang was there to rock.
Then trying to get my picture with the rockstar himself, I had to wait on and wade through a small groupie contingent that wanted him all to themselves. (eli loving it every minute of it).
At the end I met John’s new girl. They also got together at work, so of course I forced the work couples pic.
Friday was a return to some poker.
I played a very loosy goosy game, getting too cocky on bluffs and chasing to boot, and found myself down sixty. So I buckled down and grinded out to about forty, only to take Bomba down with some tricky over betting when I had two pair right at the end to come out ten bucks profit.
But the story does not end there, it was commented that Ryan has been the butt of the poker areas of this blog recently. I don’t know why, but I have been getting his number the last few weeks, but he played much tighter and stronger this time, hardly talking when he was involved with a hand, and betting forcibly. And when tournament time came around, and I tried to bluff him out, he made a good call and sent me home packing losing thirty dollars, ushering me off the table with the very apropos “Put that in your little blog!”
Saturday night, after watching the cute, but sometimes a bit studid “Prarie Home Companion,” Jenna got attacked by the sodomizing patriotic firehydrant.
And we witnessed some indie movie film a block away from my house.
Sunday, Mexico defeated Iran in the World Cup, thank god, and Jenna and I went to the Blues and BBQ festival.
Where we met up with her friends.
To get some down home brisket from a master pitboss.
And what do we do in the park with our Q?
Why play phase 10 of course. I had never played before, but ended up teaching the salty vets a lesson on the rules by actually reading them.
I checked out my favorite comic book shop nearby only to find fellow Wesleyanite of ’02 Genvieve working there.
Monday, Jenna took me out to the Starlight Mints at Bowery Ballroom.
She wasn’t having any fun, even though I though they were okay, so I had to take it up a notch. Sometimes you just got to rock out with your cock out.
Wednesday, Jenna and I missed a special work diner cause we had to, well, work. So they let us go out by ourselves on the company to get some din din. Thanks PS!
Which brings us to next week, where I am taking Jenna to mexico for some Vaca, so don’t expect an update until after that. Till then, tootles!
