Late Night Melt Down…
Thursday, Derek and I had a little Avid Final Cut trade off (we ran out of time, so it was a bit one sided but I just wanted to make it to poker).
Which we did, arriving to spark a tournament.
I did well in the first few hands, only to lose to the pair of ducks that hit when I had eights in the pocket. You never suspect the deuces. (this lesson happened to Thayer previously, but I forgot to mention it then). And the ace ten was no good against jack jack, and I was out second, first time I have not made it in the money at the 81st tourney.
John and Cassens made it to the final two.
John got lucky, and took it all.
Yeah, fuck you Unabomber.
Then the cash game ensued.
It started with only Jim, Allison and me, and I controlled the game. Then linzie came and she threw me off and I had to buy back. Allison went out quick, and sean joined us, as did john after his first win. John took a stack, as did Jim, and they kept it. Sean cruised at about even, and I lost it all on the last hand. I had ace jack, and I raised, but not enough because john called with nine six, which hit two pair. I hated losing the last hand with such a good hand, that I went all in, and john was more than happy to call.
Down thirty. Ugh.
