Shaken, Ms. Moneypenny, not stirred…
Friday Ogo surprised me at my office, showing up all blurry.
We played some pool, and he beat me. I missed some easy eight ball shots, and I think he felt sorry for me and let me win the last game. Then in ping pong the tables turned, and after a close first game where I was warming up I took him out, but I had no pity and did not let him have a game.
Which I loved. But I own all the comics that the movie is based on so my opinion comes with some bias. (I never like to overhype movies because sometimes expectations ruin okay flics). But, damn, that shit was well made, directed, casted, and fully pulled off; albeit with some suspension of disbelief and allowances for the idiosyncrasies of the noir vengeance tale.
The night continued at the MattSam Martini Melee.
Origami flower scrungies where the accessory du jour.
Smith gave us a wonderful ADD DJ set.
I tried to allow Liz to get in the picture, and decapitated myself in the process.
The three musketeers, or is it mousecateers?
At around 2am, it was finally time to head on out.
My favorite pic of the night.
The preferred destination: Lucy’s, where the Lord of the Rings Pinball holds court.
Brielle struck a pose.
Caroline gave the wry smile.
The couple had an intimate moment while Smith battled the ents.
I almost got the 12 million point replay, and managed to mutliball on our last go.
But alas, the night came to its end like most of them do,
Feeding off the miraculous heat from a New York pizza oven.
